Ministry Description:

The Church Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors ministry is responsible for assisting the clergy in the distribution of Holy Communion and in the reading of the lessons during worship services. This includes the following tasks:

• Preparing for and participating in worship services

• Reading the lessons from the Old Testament, New Testament, and Psalms

• Assisting the clergy in the distribution of Holy Communion

• Serving as chalice bearers

The Church Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors ministry is an important part of the church's overall mission. By assisting the clergy in the celebration of Holy Communion, the ministry helps to make the sacrament available to all members of the congregation. The ministry also helps to proclaim the Word of God to the congregation.
